UPDATE! & Photo Dump

Well well well! I am back for a quick update, more photos than words! But those are the best right?

Life has been busy, and is finally slowing down a little, as much as life can I assume. Within the last three weeks we were home 9 days. We have been to a wedding in Lubbock, celebrated our 1 year, Josh's boss down, Houston to Florida for another wedding and vacay, and home. Things were busy....work was busy...glad to be home now though!

First off Betsy's wedding! My longest friend! It was absolutely beautiful and a blast! A few pictures from weekend!

We then celebrated our 1 year on Sunday, driving home from Lubbock! We got back early and cleaned vehicles and worked before Josh's boss came into town. We got home and I went back to change clothes and came back to Flowers and a sweet handwritten card  on "paper" for our anniversary! He did good. It was small yet perfect and meant so much! Wednesday we drove to Houston so we could JetSet to the Keys early morning. Rehearsal was Thursday and wedding was Friday. It was simply gorgeous and an amazing wedding! Two of our really good friends got married! Sat-Tues was vacation and fun with friends! To say it was a blast would be an understatement! We rented scooters, went to the beach, ate good food, drank some good drinks, laughed a lot, and made tons of memories!

The Trip home did not go according to plan! We got delayed 2.5 hours in Key West, barely caught flight in Miami only because flight attendants were late, get to Houston at 8, only to realize 40 minutes later our bags did not make it. Finally leave airport at 9:30 and decide to stay in Houston and leave early to make it to work. FINALLY get to friends apt at 11:30 eat and go to bed, to wake up at 4 and drive 3 hours back home to work :( Terrible. Luckily I did have clothes because my smart husband told me to pack them where they wld be easy to get to, so I put in my carry on!

Needless to say it was good to be home and back in our routine.  Our weekend was relaxing with church and a little cinco de mayo celebration Sunday. I started Crossfit again on Monday morning, and got Missy Mae back from Bootcamp yesterday! Her bootcamp was awesome and I am so pleased with her! He did awesome with her!!!  I can say my life is back in order now for sure!

And there you have it, an update on what has been going on! Now back to work!
Whew That was exhausting! Rocky Agrees!

Fall Fall Fall

You thought I was talking about the season didn't you? Nope, I was talking about the big fall I took last week. One Big Spill onto hard ground and thistles....yep, if you're going to ride horses this is bound to happen at one point. I think it is god's way of bringing you back to reality to remember it is a 1,200 pound animal that can get rid of you at any time. Went to the chiropractor today to make sure I am good, and No worries all is well, and if you get bucked off you get right back on...yep. I did. Then haven't been back on since that day....ONLY because I have not had a chance. You can bet your hiney I will be this weekend. and multiple times next week with the long break!!!!

But for reals, onto Fall. What a gorgeous time it is in Texas here lately! Cooler weather, changing leaves, light when I drive to work! Seriously, I love it all. But I am especially looking forward to Thanksgiving. Food, Family, and Fun...that is a lot of F's that I all love!!! ANNND Josh and I are hosting my parents at our casa this weekend! Can't wait! I am already working on grocery list for Sunday and looking at dessert recipes to try! I already have all of the meal planned out!!!  With Thanksgiving around the corner you know what the means, Christmas! I cannot wait to decorate. I think I may pull down the decorations Sunday so I can sort through them and see what we need so I can make sure and purchase them so we can go up with everything right after Thanksgiving!! :) Planner I tell ya. Such a planner that I forget to take pictures for blog post....

That is all for today. I'm going to get this whole picture thing down:)

Letting Go

Letting go is never easy...I'm talking letting go of anything, that favorite top, your worries and problems, favorite shoe etc. At the end of day it is life and we have to live our life and letting go is apart of life and moving on.

I recently let go of Coup. This past Thursday Josh loaded up Coup and met me after work at a camp for a guy to look at Coup. All the starts aligned and my prayers were answered. Coup would be going to a new home. And not just any home. He will be living on Lake Travis where Girl Scouts will be loving on him all the time!!!!!!

Even though I am sad to let him go and let go of that guy that had been such a huge part of my life for 8 years, I could not have asked for a better place for him to go. With him being hurt, this had been weighing on my heart and I had been praying a lot for god to give me a path for him and that he did!!!!

A dream of mine had been to take pictures in my wedding gown with a dark horse, and coup was that horse! This past week was my only chance to get them done before him possibly going to a new home. So Tuesday Josh bathed Coup, charged the camera, and hooked up the trailer. I got home from work and got my dress and off we went to do our own little photo shoot. Josh def gets husband of the year award. He was so on board for this because he knew how much it meant to me! And the pictures came out amazing. I am so pleased with them and so happy that I got to do this and have a great last memory with Coup! Below are a few of the shots my sweet husband took!:)

Love this boy

And that is how I spent my Tuesday night last week! Things have been busy but hope they slow down now! Weekend recap tomorrow!!!:)

Weekend at {Home}

This weekend Josh, Rock, and I loaded up and headed north! I love when I get to go home and spend time with family- sister event made it!! Laughs, up late and up early, and love is what is in full when I go home. I would not want to be anywhere else! Luckily I got off early on Friday so we did not get home too late- it is quite the haul home!

The only down side- the visit is always too fast! We brought the trailer home this weekend so we could haul back home this little gem:
Meet Missy Mae

Yep, a new horse. I went home this weekend to visit my mom and dad, dad is feeling much better but still gets a little tired- but he will be back to 100% soon, and also try a horse. It is crazy, my dad has had his eye on this mare since she was a 2 year old. I rode her as a 3 year old, but just never was able to buy her. She is now 6 and has blossomed into a beautiful horse. She is broke, but green. Has not been hauled and does not know barrels! She is my new little project and I am trying her for the next month to see if we will get a long and be her new home!

I also tried a little sorrel named Annie, but we decided to go with Missy! This was how our families Saturday morning began! The weather was perfect!

Annie

After riding, we all got ready and went to eat at Bara's, good ol' Mexican food!

Goofy Josh
Josh and I then headed out to see his best friend and best man from his wedding and his new baby girl! Josh and her share the same birthday!!! :) We visited with him, his wife, and step daughter for a little while before heading to Josh's uncle's house to take photos of Deer!

Yep, we worked while we were gone! Josh is trying to bring numbers up at the ranch so coming to the boss with photos of deer is his best bet! That was fun! We rode the 4 wheeler and shot a lot of pics!

The weekend was pure perfection! So much fun with the family!! We sure do know how to have a good time when we all get together!

Being goofy

Being us

Hope everyone has a great Day! I had a blah Monday, but getting to go home and work with Missy Mae made it way better! Yesterday our goal was to get her under the barn and on concrete...seems small but it was a huge accomplishment! We were very pleased with her! Her mind is sound and she is calm! Coupers has been a great help! :)

Peace!

Ever Get Easier?

Another weekend in the books. It seems I only have time to do one post a week now a days and that post always talks about the weekend! ;)

Just another Friday nigt
Well this weekend was a nice little weekend with my Husband! We cooked out Steaks Friday night and had us a little date night! At 8:15 we drove around the ranch to look at animals! :) And much to our disappointment not much was out.

Saturday we left mid morning and headed to SA for a little shopping and horse racing! We met some of my old friends from College that we hadn't gotten to hang out with in FOREVER. We ate dinner at Chuys, I love me some mexican food! Then went on to the horse races!

Chuys
Horse Races
Josh and I never make large bets! We went in with $25 total. and after paying for seats and admission to enter gate I think we had around $12-$14 that we started with to bet on! Our goal was to not have to go to the ATM and we accomplished that! We walked away with $16 :) We don't make any large bets, but we still have fun!

A horse went down on the last race, after the finish line. My body began to shake, my heart sank, and my eyes began to fill with tears. After almost 9 years since I had to make the decision to put the best horse down that I will over own, it does not get any easier to see a horse go down. NOT ONE BIT. It takes me right back to that very night and I feel all the same feelings. As I sit here and type I still hurt and cry. It was probably the hardest day of my life that I have had in my 25 years of life. Through it all, I still look at the path god sent me on with this incident and I couldnt be more blessed with where I am today. Will I ever own a better horse than Showbox, NEVER, but I will be able to learn from each one because of him.  My husband is amazing, because not once does he ever tell me to get over it, or toughen up, or think I am dumb for still getting so upset; instead he comforts me and puts his heart exactly where mine is at that moment and comforts me. He knows how upset it makes me and knows that every day until I probably die when I see a horse get injured It will be hard, and he has to be there for me. Now that my friends is true love and I am so Lucky to have someone who doesn't necessarily understand the horse world, or understand my pain directly but because he loves me he gets it and understands it now indirectly though me. Anyone who reads my blog, has seen the posts, references, and comments of Showbox still to this day.  I pray he is enjoying his life in Heaven and has found someone to love like he loved me and someone has found him! Because he was def a one person horse and blossomed after we purchased him. One day we will meet again, in a much better place.

Showbox-The One & Only- Blessed to own such an amazing animal
