Organization

Organization is something I like to live by, but do not always do so all the time! My husby cracks up at me, because I get random spells where I see something messy, and have to fix it RIGHT AWAY! For reals though, I do.  For example, I am leaving to go to work and notice all the mail on the bar, which drives me cray, and I go through it all....trash the old meaningless, and go to our desk-the catch all be all- and organize it and throw things away and put things away...all this at 6:15 in the a.m. Cray- I know.

Which has now landed me into my new project idea and pinterest inspirations. Next weekend we are home, so my goal is to organize the whole desk area, get a calendar up for the upcoming hunting and football season, and get something for mail and bills! I have been researching pinterest and google for ideas and have come across a few! I am thinking I am going to go to Wal-Mart, and Hometown Crafts (our small town version of Hobby Lobby), and maybe a thrift store or two and see what I can throw together for this little project. I am thinking one Dry Erase calendar, a cork board, dry erase weekly calendar, and mail holder along with a year calendar, because everyone knows Josh and I need every month near by!! :) We have the perfect area to have this! I will post before and after pictures once completed, unless it is an epic fail and I hate it and give up- which is a possibility!!

So below are my inspirations and where I plan to start. Tonight is part 1 of the process- going through the desk and cleaning and seeing what all I need! Then next week begin shopping for my supplies!

This link below has a cute idea also

Wish me luck that I don't give up and finish this project!

If You Get a Moment...

Short post today. Nothing too in detail to write, but a lot of meaning. If you get a moment today, could you say a quick prayer for my sweet sweet dad, along with the dr.'s and nurses who are trying to find out what is wrong with him.

If you know me, you know how big of a family person I am and how close I am to my family. My daddy means the world to me and is my rock. I call him for everything and hate that he is not well.

The power of prayer is amazing, and even if I just get a couple more lifted because of this it is worth it! I know it is all in God's hands and he will take care of my dad.

Thanks in advance.

The things he says...

I at times think, my husband could have his own reality show. It would feature me, our crazy life at the ranch, and our friends and family. You never know what is going to come out of his or my mouth, at times I wonder how we function on a day to day basis. haha. For reals though, Ask our friends or my family...They have witnessed this awesomeness I like to call it. He cracks me up.

Watching the Olympics has been quite entertaining for us. Below are some amazing statements and questions my husband has said that keep me laughing.

"Do you think the women wear panties under those swimsuits"
in which I replied...um no do you know any girls that wear panties under their swimsuits?
"Well they are different than most swimsuits"
Yes, they actually cover more, and hello who wants to be slowed down more with panties!

"Man, their boobies really are smushed in there"

"Tennage boys have to enjoy this!"

"I could do without the floor routine for the men. They do not have to flail around like that"

"Ahh, it's Ryan Lochte!"

"Don't you lose it like you did in the relay"

"If you wouldn't have swam all the way to the olympics, you would have won that medal" referring to Lochte's repeating commercial on swimming to the Olympics

"I really don't get why gymnast only make it to one olympics. It isn't that hard on your body"
in which I argued and he comes back with
"They have MATS to land on. You can't tell me that football isn't harder. I'm not saying people are wrong, I just don't get it"

And a few of my recent favorite
" I thought I was going to have to put on a cowboy hat and be all cowboy."

" Was that $1 a quill you charged us? That dog isn't even worth that much"

" I can pay someone to cut my toenails and rub my feet? I am never cutting my own toenails again!"

(Referring to my horse being turned out and him trying to call him up to feed)

Me: Did you get Coup up to feed him?
Husby: Yeah!
Me: Oh so your whistling worked?
Husby: No I had to walk out there and put his bridle on
Me: You mean halter
Husby: Yeah!
Me: Did he run from you?
Husby: Psh No, I am the horse whisperer. (DEAD SERIOUS)

The guy below keeps me laughing from a day to day basis! Laughing is good for the soul!

Have a great weekend!

Another Day, Another Dollar

Today, for the first time ever, I am linking up with Bargain Blonde for her "How I Make That Money Honey" Link up!

To be real honest, I debated, but had such a fun time seeing what everyone does in the real world I decided to join in on the fun! Even if I am no expert in this blogging world and a newbie!

Well here is how my story starts out! I went to a little school by the name of Texas A&M! I was a small town girl in a big school town. I fell in love with the town & School! I loved it there and knew that was where I was suppose to be.

I majored in Sports Mgmt. with a minor in Business and wanted so badly to work within the equine  industry doing marketing and event planning. I had made so many contacts my the last 1yr and 1/2 of school but learned quickly there is not much turnover rate within the equine industry. I graduated on a Saturday in May of 2009 and began my first job in the real world the following Tuesday. I worked as a leasing coordinator for a luxury student living property. It was a job, it paid the bills and gave me money to spend, it worked! I did marketing and advertising for the company, closing sales to pro sects, managing databases, and out and about on campus marketing. After almost a year, I was miserable. My boss and I did not get a long and I was not happy.

God Answered my prayers, and my previous boss from my college part-time job called and offered me an Account Executive (fancy word for sales) position with the ABC Affiliate in the BCS area. It was an offer I could not turn down and I accepted. I was the youngest he had hired in his history of being a manager, and I did not want to disappoint. Although, I loved this job and did well at it, my hear was no longer in CS. Josh, my current husband, lived 4 hours away working on a high fence game ranch. I began applying to jobs in Kerrville, where the job market is slim. I stumbled up on a Admin. Assistant Job at a Country Club and Golf Course and applied. The job seemed perfect for me. It was being an assistant to the membership and events director at Comanche Trace.

Long story short I got the job, loaded up and moved and never turned back. I have now been here over a year and a half and simply love what I do.  I have transitioned from Events and Membership Event Marketing  to the marketing department. Before my sole purpose was events and marketing membership events. I loved it, but the hours were unpredictable. My boss left, and we did some reorganizing. I knew the events position was not for me. I had just gotten married, literally, and I have an hour commute one way. Luckily, I got transitioned to my new department as Marketing Assistant for the Club. I LOVE IT!

What do I do? I help market Comanche Trace as a community and as a whole along with I am the assistant editor to our bimonthly magazine we produce, Lifestyle. I do ads, marketing campaigns, edits, photos, photo shop, contact writers, meetings, website, and anything else that comes our way! There are only 2 of us in our departments, so we wear plenty of hats. I could not be happier with where I am at and the opportunity to expand my skills in marketing. I am learning new things every day and blessed to have such a knowledgable boss to help me along the way!

So that is what I do to make that money!

Friday's Letters

Dear Friday I am happy you have decided to show your face again, just wish it was more often
Dear Port Aransas I honestly am sad that I am missing our date this weekend and do not get to sit in our new beach chairs with a cold adult beverage we bought just for you. Dear Anheuser Busch Although you ruined my plans this weekend I will get over it. The nice treat of drinks you packed in my fridge due to 1 week out of date should ease the pain :) Dear Husband You make me smile thanks for making my coffee this morning and shooting me an axis for cooking meat, finally!
Dear Facetime Thank you for letting me keep in touch with my family and see this cute little guy's face weekly!

Dear Rocky Thank you for being so darn cute and bringing so much happiness to my life but please stop getting into trash. 2x this week is not you.

And last Dear Asics My feet cannot wait to meet you and make running a part of my life again!

Have a great weekend!

Ever Get Easier?

Another weekend in the books. It seems I only have time to do one post a week now a days and that post always talks about the weekend! ;)

Just another Friday nigt
Well this weekend was a nice little weekend with my Husband! We cooked out Steaks Friday night and had us a little date night! At 8:15 we drove around the ranch to look at animals! :) And much to our disappointment not much was out.

Saturday we left mid morning and headed to SA for a little shopping and horse racing! We met some of my old friends from College that we hadn't gotten to hang out with in FOREVER. We ate dinner at Chuys, I love me some mexican food! Then went on to the horse races!

Chuys
Horse Races
Josh and I never make large bets! We went in with $25 total. and after paying for seats and admission to enter gate I think we had around $12-$14 that we started with to bet on! Our goal was to not have to go to the ATM and we accomplished that! We walked away with $16 :) We don't make any large bets, but we still have fun!

A horse went down on the last race, after the finish line. My body began to shake, my heart sank, and my eyes began to fill with tears. After almost 9 years since I had to make the decision to put the best horse down that I will over own, it does not get any easier to see a horse go down. NOT ONE BIT. It takes me right back to that very night and I feel all the same feelings. As I sit here and type I still hurt and cry. It was probably the hardest day of my life that I have had in my 25 years of life. Through it all, I still look at the path god sent me on with this incident and I couldnt be more blessed with where I am today. Will I ever own a better horse than Showbox, NEVER, but I will be able to learn from each one because of him.  My husband is amazing, because not once does he ever tell me to get over it, or toughen up, or think I am dumb for still getting so upset; instead he comforts me and puts his heart exactly where mine is at that moment and comforts me. He knows how upset it makes me and knows that every day until I probably die when I see a horse get injured It will be hard, and he has to be there for me. Now that my friends is true love and I am so Lucky to have someone who doesn't necessarily understand the horse world, or understand my pain directly but because he loves me he gets it and understands it now indirectly though me. Anyone who reads my blog, has seen the posts, references, and comments of Showbox still to this day.  I pray he is enjoying his life in Heaven and has found someone to love like he loved me and someone has found him! Because he was def a one person horse and blossomed after we purchased him. One day we will meet again, in a much better place.

Showbox-The One & Only- Blessed to own such an amazing animal
