Memorial Weekend and Work Overload

If I hear "this is priority" I may...okay do nothing but really work is so busy right now with no sight of it slowing down even just a little. I feel like every time I post it is about how busy work is, but it's true. I have a to do list that keeps compiling each day with deadlines and every day I get a new tasks (plural) that is the to be made "priority". I have learned to multi task pretty well but feel I need to even learn how to do it better. One key thing is take a deep breath and take your time. That's something I've learned this week for sure whew.

Anywho, I hope everyone had a marvelous weekend! Some friends did not have anything going on and we were free so they decided to drive on down last minute! And Mother Nature decided to come a downpour early Friday morning. We have had maybe 2 inches all year and by 8 am Friday morning we had almost 3 inches of rain. The River was flooded and flowing. Prob best case scenarios for the river being it had not had much rain and it was Memorial Day weekend. We did not let this spoil our weekend. Pool day and cooked out Saturday and headed over to a friends for a neon themed birthday party Sunday!!!!!

I caught up in laundry and rest Monday and tried to prepare myself for the week.

Missy threw a shoe so I couldn't ride until I got it put back on. She got it put back on on Wednesday, well two because she threw another shoe. I had crossfit Wednesday and had no motivation and it was a hard workout. I was the only one for awhile and then finally two more strolled in at exactly 6:30, which I was glad or I would have not be too motivated lol

Where is everyone?

Yesterday I took Miss Priss for a ride and she did really well. I cannot complain she is improving with each ride. I hope to start back on the barrels Sunday, if it does not rain!

Motivation

So like the rest of the world I made New Years Resolutions to "lose weight" or "get in shape" basically I wanted to get back on the workout routine and eating right. I am eating better and feel a lot better! Of course, I have had a few cheat meals here and there...dang you weekends with friends...but all in all it has gone pretty well. I am a very competitive person and my kind of motivation is competition. My good friend and I began a little friendly competition to keep us both motivated and driven to reach our goal and end result: Being in shape for our FL trip come April for a friends wedding. We will be there for 6 days.

So what do we do? We run 3 miles and take a picture of what we did and our time. 

It has seriously motivated me so much. I never use to complete 3 miles, and you can bet your money I do now. There is no way I am going to slack and send her a 2 mile run. or a 3 mile walk/run that is extremely slow. I am going to do my best so she see's I am working and visa versa.

I hit emergency stop 2.3 miles in on this run...now that stinks.

There has been so many times I want to stop, but push through! I love running outside rather than treadmill, but I do both and mix it up so I can add inclines on treadmill.And then after I do arms and abs. I ride horses and get a lot of butt and leg workouts in with that, but will do more if need to! I am pleased that I am still going and still feeling motivated, actually more motivated than ever! I WILL see a difference come April!  

The husband helps push me with abs and arms and I am slowly seeing a bit of definition...see...

And no post is complete without a pic of my little boy! While the husband was away to FL, what did we do? Well no other than play hide and seek! It is Rocky's favorite!

A Best Friend & a Special Birthday

Anyone who knows me, knows my love for my dog, better love my dog. For 3 years it was us two! We were inseparable and he was/is my pal. He's one good dog that I am happy to own!

If you have a second please say little quick prayer for my Rock. His eye, which has always bothered him from time to time, is really bothering him and red and doing weird things. It started last night. We flushed it with saline, which helped, but did not make it overall better come this am. So he is at the vet now and will get in to see the vet around 3:30. I am hoping we can get it figured out and fixed because it is causing him pain right now. Plus, he was just at the vet last week for a cyst. Geez!

Anyways this little guy means the world to me and hope to get his eye figured out today!

Also, a shout out to my daddy for his birthday!!!!!

Thanks dad for EVERYTHING you have done for me growing up, and for Josh and I today! You are the most selfless caring person and we are blessed to have you in our life. You keep us smiling and laughing. You are also my go to for anything and everything! We love you more than words can say and wish we could be there to celebrate this day!

Weekend {Wrap-Up}

A day late, but I made it none the less~

This weekend the husband and I took advantage of him having the weekend off and we went on over to Houston to visit friends! There was a cookoff we planned on attending Friday night and then Top Golf Saturday, with plans of going back to the cookoff to watch a band play we all enjoy! 

It has been awhile since the husband and I have road tripped and we had a ball! :) Singing and dancing And Emoji texting with a friend kept us entertained the entire way! Here are some pics from the weekend!

Top Golf! We literally spent 9 hours at this place. We arrived at 2 hoping to leave by 7 to make it to the cookoff, well we did not even get our bay until after 5. So needless to say we were not going to only play for 2 hours after we waited 3! So we stayed...until 11 p.m.

Just Rocky boy and I headed home on Sunday :( The husband stayed back to help a friend move and hunt Monday am before they road tripped back home.

Lastly, this is my new purchase. Nike Fuel Band! Say what you will, but I am obssessed! Do not rain on my parade or burst my happy bubble! I understand it isn't an "accurate" calorie counter but it sure is better than not having one!! ANNNND I literally did jumping jacks and ran in place for 15 minutes to hit my goal the first day! I just up'd my goal to 4,000 fuel points so Hope I hit it!!! 

And my after work work-out yday! Boom! But my knees are paying for it today, so it was just the elliptical for me this am.

Happy 5th Birthday Rocky!

Two birthdays in 8 days!!!! Today is my Rocky Boy's 5th birthday! Around this time 5 years ago I was trying to convince my mom I needed a dog, josh that my mom said it was okay to buy me a dog, and myself that I couldn't not have a dog! Luckily, all worked out and I picked out Rocky when he was 3 weeks and picked him up at 7 weeks!

This dog has been a blessing! I never knew I could love an animal so much! He was my companion for 3 years while I lived in CS and josh was at ranch working. He went EVERYWHERE with me, still does!

He is the best dog and so layed back! Josh and I just love him to death! He cracks us up. Josh cleans house and picks up all his toys and not 5 ,minutes later he is dragging them back out.

"Don't Drown, Turn Around"

What a week! We got rain, rain, and more rain! This is def a drastic turn around from last year and a great blessing for sure. But last week between Tuesday and Thursday we got Almost 8 inches of rain. Needless to say every dry creek bed on the ranch was flowing and we were about 2 inches from being flooded in to the ranch and not leaving- which would not have been a terrible thing! I worked Monday through Thursday this week and josh worked well...not those days. Since his job is centered around being outdoors the rain put a damper on that.

Thursday he set out to pull the neighbors truck and trailer out that had gotten stuck- good neighborly gestures! And then him and his brother headed into town to check our water crossing. It was fine when they wet to town and 45 mins later when they returned it had risen almost 3.5 feet. Yes feet. They, being the men they ate, decided to try there luck and drive across it. They did make it, but josh will tell you "my butt cheeks were puckered the whole time" haha. The water was to the top of hood. And if that wasn't enough for one day, he comes home be greeted by Sampson at his brothers house- who was left inside the house. So he heads home to check on Rocky and little boy is being good laying on the mat inside the front door. He never left or went out, but good ol' Sammy was soaked and Nelson left us two dead deer bones inside. Awesome. The highs of living on a game ranch.

This weekend was nice down time for the Nashes! We got to enjoy a nice date day and movie Friday and hung out with his dad and Paige on Saturday. I've been trying to kick a cough so it was nice to relax and lay low. I found my first point while arrowhead hunting....and then got distracted and lost it while playing with Rock. Oops.

Well today is Monday. Back to the grind of work....and workout. This is a positive. First one down for the week! More to come. Keep It Positive and Happy
