A Long Time Coming...

So I have been married now for almost 5 months and was engaged for a year before the wedding day, and I still have yet to post any photos of the engagement or wedding! What am I thinking??  So here is the first part of many post over the next few days of engagement and wedding!!

Our Engagement

Josh and I dated almost 7 years before he finally popped the question…yes that is a long time, but believe me when I tell you the timing was perfect. The 7 years of dating we were apart the 1st year, together for 3 years, and apart for 2.5 years. We changed as individuals and as a couple, we grew as individuals and as a couple, and we strived to meet our own goals and be our own as individuals and
 as a couple.

You see, we both had things we wanted to do and accomplish as individuals and knew that we were going to marry one day. This may not work for everyone, but it did for the two of us. We knew god had a plan for us, and that one day everything would align and work out, and it did.  No one understood it, but we did and that is what mattered. I would be lying if I said there were not times that I wanted/prayed/hoped he was going to ask years before he did…but then I would think, no we are not ready yet, and I am so glad he waited!! He made sure my entire family was there when he popped the question and it was all on tape. I will never forget that day.

Being engaged was an amazing experience to me! Knowing that I was going to get to marry this amazing guy who never quits, has so much work ethic, does not let things beat him down, and in all has made me a better person made me excited. I was going to get to spend the rest of my life with my best friend. And yes, it may be trying at times, but we are in this together along with God guiding us! He makes me laugh, smile, mad at times, but I would not trade it for the world!! We took our engagements at the ranch and of course had to have our little fur babies included! K2 Photography nailed it! I feel they really portrayed us as a couple in these photos and could not have been more pleased!

Happy Tuesday!

  1. Your story and path to marriage almost mirrors mine exactly! Except for the fact that Sean and I have been together almost every single day. I don't know if that's a good thing or a bad thing! Hahaha. But I think its so important to grow and mature as an individual. Hopefully during that time, the two individuals can grow together as a couple. But its not unrealistic that many people, as they grow up, they change and they grow apart as a couple. Lucky for both you and I that did not happen. Your engagement pictures are fantastic. You already know I am so jealous of your ranch. Do you have a lake or body of water of some sort on your property?

I can't wait to see the rest of the festivities!
