Way behind

I am a bit of a ways behind. But so much to be thankful for. I will start where I left off.

Day 9: my parents hard work! Due to this they have given me a wonderful life, and had the opportunity to be at everything for me and spend so much valuable time with me. My dad
Spent 5 wonderful days with me and mom as well! So blessed!

Day 10- Showbox....enough said for anyone who knows me. This horse was more than a horse and there will always be a piece of my heart missing that he took with him when he left this earth that Sunday night in 2003. I to this day, almost 8 years later, always think of him and still cry.

Day 11- Coup...for showing me God had a plan for me. And everything does happen for a reason. And for teaching me patience and horsemanship!

Day 12- Western Lane...couldn't have asked for a better neighborhood and friends to grow up with!

Day 13- College Station- I love and will always love this town!

Day 14- the Harkeys...my second family! They are the best people and we are so lucky to have such wonderful next door neighbors that became our family! I love my then!

Day 15- My Job...for the first time after
College I am truly happy at my job! I can't complain! It gets demanding but is so rewarding!!! I love it!!

Day 16- My Brother, Tj. I was so happy the day he and my sister said I Do! It was so special and one of the best nights of my life to see my sister with so much happiness and joy in her life! I wish them a happy life together forever!!!

Day 17- K9 Literacy, a wonderful program helping kids! It was a remarkable experience to see Rocky's little boy transform over the 5 weeks we were with him! I made him a photo book of pictures with him and Rocky and motivational sayings hoping it would help him remember this
Time to to be confident. It was the least I could do , and it meant so much more
Than I could have ever imagined. He was so entirely grateful and excited. And wanted Rocky to read thru it with him! He could not wait to show his grandpa and mom who rocky was! And then I met his teacher and learned how
Much he has improved since he has been with rocky! Such a rewarding experience! We will be back in the spring!

Day 18- TEXAS A&M. Say what you will but I love this school for many reasons! It comes together in the moment of pain, and success. There is no other place like Aggieland! Gig em! And always remember 11.18.99. I was there that year, after the fall. The candlelight vigil, yell practice, and game. That changed my life forever and I believe changed me into an Aggie.

Day 19- My bridesmaids...I love every single on of them. They are all part of important part of my life and have been there for me throughout my relationship with Josh and God! I love these girls and could not imagine my special day without a single one of them

Day 20-XM radio for my Commute each day

Day 21-My Memaw. For always being there for me and supporting me no matter what.

Day 22- holiday season! I love this time of year! Time with family. Great food. Celebrations of our lord Jesus Christ! I can't wait to decorate for Christmas and get our first tree:):)

Day 23-My home! I love where I live and am blessed to be with such a awesome place to live. You can't pay for the view I have!:)

Almost done with us month! Hope everyone remembersTo always thank the man upstairs for everything in our life other than this month! I heard a great saying "what if all you had today is what you thanked God for yesterday?"

Happy Holidays!

Day 8

Today I am thankful to have such amazing neighbors! Today when I got home for work I had this amazing treat in my mailbox with a note from Mrs. Doris! My neighbors and her mom are the sweetest people and I am lucky to have them watching over me while Josh is gone and the two of us once he returns! I can't wait to try these yummy treats!

5,6,7!

Day 5- very thankful for my puppy dog Rocky. Anyone that knows me, knows my dog is my world. He has been by my side for the past 4 years. He was a gift from Josh before he moved away and it has been the best gift ever! He is such a neat dog!

Day 6- I am thankful for my lord Jesus Christ. He has blessed me with a wonderful life. He has definitely tested me and given me challenges, but through him all things are possible. And in the end, the journey is worth it to spend our life in eternity with him.

Day 7- I am thankful for Brazos Fellowship! This was the church Josh and I attended in College Station. This church changed our relationship spiritually and us as individuals. It is great to see what god can do! This church, and Pastor Will, will forever hold a special place in our hearts!!!!

Sorry I seem to be playing catch up every post!

Until tomorrow!

30 Days of Thankfulness!

So...it is the month of November, officially Fall, and officially colder weather, hopefully! The month Josh comes back from CO, & another month closer to the wedding! :) Lots of wonderful things to look forward to! Being that it is the month of Thanksgiving I decided to copy Sisters blog idea and write something I am thankful for Everyday! I missed Day 1 because I had no phone or internet last night....! So here it goes!

Day 1: I am thankful for the phone & wireless internet! Living out in the middle of nowhere I am already disconnected from the world, these things help me communicate with those I love and miss! It may seem like a materialistic thing, but to me it is a way of connection and I did not have that last night and missed talking to my parents, sister, and Josh! Hope that will be back on today! :)

Day 2: I am thankful for my family! Without them I would not be where I am today! We are a small family, and are a very close family. My sister is my best friend and mentor in so many ways! We weren't always so close when we were younger, but am so thankful for the friendship and bond we have formed since she left for college! She can help me through so much & is always there for advice on anything!! I am proud of her!

& My parents! I am truly blessed to have two amazing parents! I can literally say they are my best friends and I can talk to them about anything! I admire them for how they have managed to be my best friend and by biggest fear of disappointing! These two things have drove me to go after what I want, and know they will always be there for me!
I have a pretty awesome family and when we get together we have a good time! It is a time full of laughter! :)

I am caught up! These 30 days of Thankfulness is a great way to reflect & remember to not take the little things for granted! We need to be thankful for so much! Well busy days at the office! Hope everyone has a wonderful day!

Until tomorrow,

TNT Outfitters...the finest Outfitter there is!

Okay...maybe I am a little bias! But I believe they back it up well! :) For those that don't know my fiance, Josh, works for TNT outfitters! Him and his brother started this outfitter a few years ago. It has been so neat for me to see it grow over the past 4 years! From their first year in Colorado to now, being fully booked and having Texas hunts and the success they have had in such a short amount of time & being one of the youngest out there. Like anyone, it is so rewarding to see someone you love, enjoy their job so much and work so hard & for it to pay off in big ways! :) because of this I am so proud of Josh and what he has done the person he is! :) A hunter posted a story on the hunting forum about his trip and hunt with TNT Outfitters! It is such an awesome story and I wanted to share! I am so proud! :)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
My dad and I had the fortunate opportunity to go hunting with Taylor Horton, Josh Nash, Rick and Matt aka “Cooky” of TnT Outfitters this past week outside the Historic town of Durango Colorado. Taylor met us mid-day Friday at the local Wal-Mart and walked me through the process of getting my hunting license and mule deer tag, which made it very easy. We then followed him out to the ranch, which ended up only being 16 miles out of town, 4 miles of asphalt then 12 miles of ranch roads. Who would have guessed we would have been on a huge ranch within sight of one of Colorado’s most visited towns. But make no mistake the ranch was secluded, electricity was provided by Honda and they did have a hot water system for the shower and sinks. As we pulled into camp, I noticed there were two outdoor toilets off to the side, which told me there was going to be some “Good” cooking going down in this place. While stepping out of our Jeep I seriously thought we were go to be hunting with the Duck Commanders. Everyone was growing out their beards and living the true Mountain Men experience. I was ready to jump on board because I didn’t bring a razor either. Nonetheless, the guides were very friendly and very excited about hunting. Everyone treated and spoke to us like they’ve known us forever. After unpacking the jeep, with the help of everyone, we took off with Josh in search of the Big Muley’s that Colorado is known for. As we pulled to the top of a mountain, it seemed like you could see Wyoming from these peeks. And all my dad and I could think about is, “how in the world are we going to find a deer out there?” But it did not take long with Josh’s trained eye to locate a Doe. Actually it took longer for Josh to explain to us where it was standing. These Gray colored Mule Deer hide so well in the brush. We had one staring at us for who know how long, 30 yards away, and we never saw the deer until it started walking. Back at Camp, Cooky whipped us up some Steaks, Mac-n-Chees, squash and salad for dinner, and let me tell you that boy can cook. The next day had us riding, walking and looking for these majestic creatures. I’m guessing Josh found 12 deer to my 1. We did see plenty of does with yearly’s, which is a good sign being the amount of Mountain Lions in the area. With dusk setting in upon us, we knew I was time to call it a day. Back at camp we sat around the camp fire laughing and lying about past hunting excursions while sipping on a few adult beverages. Between the laughs I kept thinking about finding that one big mature Muley. After a heavy helping of fried catfish and potato salad we were off to bed for the much needed rest. The next morning had us back on top of the mountain overlooking the valley named Poppin’ Johnny’s. The area got its name from an old oil well pump motor that use to pop so loud you would have to wear ear plugs while glassing the mountain side. We looked over the area for about 20 minutes until Josh wanted us to glass the other side of the mountain. As I watched these black squirrels playing in a nearby pine tree, Josh spoke up after sighting a Mule Deer. It took me forever to find it. I could not tell if it was buck or a doe because it kept its head down and it was about ¾ of a mile away. Josh knew what sex it was, he looked up at me stating, “I’m going to get the spotting scope….and your GUN”. “Really?”, Holy Cow that must be a buck down there. After setting up the spotting scope, Josh determined that we were looking at a mature Mule Deer Buck. Josh took off back to the other side of the mountain to get my dad and his remaining gear. While he was gone, Kevin (Josh’s old college friend) and I used the spotting scope to look at this so called Buck. When I finally found it I swiftly stated to Kevin, “Whoa, you gotta look at this Monster”. Josh came back with my dad and saw both our faces with big smiles and our eyes ready to pop out at any moment. Josh asked, “do you like it?”. “What, are you kidding me, that thing is huge”. Josh, “okay, let’s go get him”. The stalk was on. Josh and I started covering ground while Dad and Kevin stayed perched on the mountain top above the valley. As we slowly crept along the brush Josh stopped, looked back at me and said, “he is right there and he has us pegged”. We had to make this quick, so we scooted over about 6 feet to set up the shooting sticks so I could get on the deer. The deer was standing behind some brush and was not moving. 20 minutes went by as we stayed in a Mexican Stand-off with this trophy of an animal. Finally the Beast walked out from behind the brush and I squeezed off a shot. He jumped straight up into the air. Josh stated “put another one in him.” I quickly reloaded, moved over and saw the horns through the scope. Big Mistake. Now I’m shaking all over the place and my heart is beating faster than before. I told Josh, “I can’t shoot, I’m staking to bad”. Josh replied, “just breath Jake, for God-sakes, just breath.” I pulled the trigger and knew I missed, but I quickly gathered my senses and the 3rd shot dropped him. Josh and I were screaming like little school girls in excitement. Meanwhile, Dad and Kevin watch this all unfold from almost a mile way through a spotting scope. This was a true Spot-n-Stalk mule deer hunt. I’m so happy to get this Trophy Mule Deer, but I’m mostly happy that my dad was able to be there with me. TnT guys were a great group of hard working individuals that made this a trip of a lifetime.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

I feel this is what it is about! And it is so nice to know one thing you do can be a memory to someone for a lifetime! Such a cool story!! :)

If you are a hunter or know one look up tnt-outfitters.com and book a hunt with some young, fun, hardworking guys! You will not regret it! :)

Until next time!

K9 Literacy...Changing Lives Forever!

K9 Literacy...something that will hold a place close to not only mine, but Rocky's heart forever!
My boss, Sherri, told me about this program a few months ago after she had heard all of the stories about Rocky and met him a few times. She told me that many of the members here at CT were involved & it seemed like something that would be great for Rocky. I had wanted to get involved in some type of "Rehabilitation" program with Rocky before, but had never had the chance. She explained that you got paired up with a student and the student read to the child and helped the child read because the dog does not "judge" them so they do not feel any pressure! Of course, I was automatically in & began looking into it. Long story short we got all set up with a babysitter on Friday's, lunch hour adjusted, orientation class taken, and passed the behaviorial assesment test! We were all set to start!

We missed the first one because I was in Nashville, blog post to come soon! So last Friday was our first visit! I learned so much more about what this program was about! You are paired up with a kid and they read to the dog for 30 minutes, & then get to take the dog outside for 15-20 minutes to play. The kid may or may not be a strong reader. It is to boost their confidence in reading or confidence in themselves, or maybe give them more one on one time because they don't recieve it at home, the list can go on! From the minute I met "Chip" (Rocky's little boys nickname to protect him),I was thrilled. "Chip" was shy at first and very timid. For the 45 minutes I was there, I saw this little boy change. He gained confidence in just the short time he spent with Rocky. At first, he walked around with Rocky away from the other kids, by the end of the session he was running with Rocky everywhere and playing with the other kids and laughing! Before we left, Rocky & Chip were in the school with all these kids! Chip was laughing and talking while all the kids enjoyed seeing and petting Rocky! It was a feeling I can't describe to see Rocky helping this little boy! Such a neat Program to be apart of and I am so honored that Rocky and I get to spend this time with Chip and make an impression for a lifetime and something he will always remember!

Today it was a little cooler out, so Rock wore his jacket! Chip wanted to make sure he had it on before we went out!

Ooops!

So it seems I have fallen off of the blogging pattern! For good reasons though I might add! I have been busy! Everything from my bday weekend, to time with Josh during his break, to Nashville, TN this past weekend!! TO begin where I left off it was the beginning to kick off my birthday weekend! It began with a fun trip to College Station to watch the Aggies BTHO OSU, which did not happen! We BTHO the first half, but did not follow through the second half! We had a great time tailgating and enjoying Northgate later that might for my bithday! Sarah and Kev surprised me with 25 balloons and a cake when I arrived and then TJ surprised me with my wonderful gift from the family! The weekend was still successful minus the loss!

The group at the game

Kev & Me supporting TNT Outfitters at the Aggie Game!

Sunday I was exhausted! I drove from CS to South of SA for a bridal shower for my dear Friend Shauna! It was so good to see her, and then Rocky and I started the adventure back home! :) My wonderful Fiance came home for my birthday and made it home Sunday night as well! It was so great to see him! When he got home he started honking the horn like crazy and both Sampson and Rocky were laying beside me and freaked. They started barking...but were scared. It was as if they were thinking "OMG someone is really here this time...what do we do?" Then they went CRAZAY when they saw who it was!

Josh and I spend the day in SA for my birthday on Monday! I took the day off and we did a little cake tasting and put our deposit down on the bakery for our wedding cakes!!!! :) Josh took me to Foga de Chao for my birthday! We had so much fun catching up and eating our body weight! If you have never eaten here, you must go! It is amazing! :) It is a Brazilian Steakhouse and is basically all you can eat! You have a card, Red means Stop and Green means Go- and the food just starts coming!
Here is us at Foga de Chao enjoying our lunch!! :)

I am now learning how to golf...LEARNING! I still have a long way to go, but my swing has def improved after one lesson! I cant wait to go to my next lesson! Josh bought me new clubs for my birthday, pink golf balls, & pink tees! I am ready to go!! I can't wait to get better so I can start playing with Josh more! :) We hit at the driving range a few times during the time Josh was home so that was fun!!

Well that is enough catch up for today! Josh headed back to CO last week and will be back right before Thanksgiving! It is going to go by fast though! MY mom is coming down Thursday until Monday this week! Can't wait to hang out! We are going to do registries and look at chairs and get some things taken care of!

Until next time,

AT&T Rocks

Yep! You Read that right! I know so many people HATE AT&T, but I have actually always had a rather pleasant relationship with them. Minus the random drop calls from here to there, I have been pleased with things they do for me! I don't know if I am just a rather lucky customer, or have a charming voice! I like to think the ladder of the two ;). This week AT&T proved to me that they deserve my business!! My upgrade date was November 2011 and I noticed a few months back that it was changed to April 2012. I kept forgetting to call about it....until Wednesday morning! My nice little Iphone, that was in GREAT shape, had a little fall after I worked out and the screen cracked. Luckily, it did not shatter, but a crack indeed is across the screen. I was super bummed since I am totally in love with my apps I have on my phone right now, ridic I know!

I called #611, I always use them instead of the store! So much more helpful!!! They did much research and got the manager to figure out why my upgrade date had changed and found nothing! They overwrited the upgrade date and are letting me upgrade in November! Such nice people! I was a pleased customer! :) They always get me what I want! Now here is to hoping that the Iphone5 is out come that time!! :) Anyone have any hints or ideas as to when that thing is coming out? I hear OCt. 4th they are releasing the details!! :)

Well Have a good Friday! I know I will enjoy my weekend with a wonderful surprise to come home to on Sunday! :)

Count Your Blessings!

Well it has been a little while! I have been super lazy busy. So this may ramble on!

Things have been up and down in my life lately- mostly up with only one down- that will all work out, but you know what always remeber to count your blessings!I am blessed for everyone I have in my life from my family & Fiance to my friends, & my pets to my job. Seriously tho, I am happy with where I am today! :) Remember that blessings come in all shapes, sizes, and form!! I hope that I am a blessing to all the people in my life that have been there for me so much!! I strive to be a person of strength, honor, hope, and happiness! I may not have all the answers, or always know what to say, but I know God has a plan for each of us! And everything works out! ANd God has put us in eachothers lives for a reason! So remember to take everything in on this journey of life, and remember those that have helped/blessed you through this journey! And repay the favor along to someone else or back to that person when needed!!:)

My parents came down and spent Labor Day with me. We had a great time doing "wedding things" and "ranch things"! Believe it or not, my dad got to experience the amazing cows! haha! Quote of the weekend "If it's meant to be, then it's meant to be, then it's meant to be, or not" haha! We got a laugh out of this one. And it actually became the theme of the weekend! But in reality it is almost the theme of so much that happens in our lives. Yep, my family is quite the inspirational type! haha

This weekend my friend Randi came down! It was so great to catch up Friday night and ride around the ranch. She is such a strong individual and is beautiful inside and out!We went to the Fredericksburg Trade Days! Def got some great buys and cannot wait to refinish some of the items I bought!!!! Oh, I almost forgot she also made me this awesome Cross for my birthday! Along with 4 coasters!

I am going to Aggieland this weekend to see friends, celebrate my birthday, and watch the Aggies BTHO OSU! I get to attend the game with my brother-in-law since my sister cannot attend! I Cannot wait to hear and see the 12th Man and be back to the town that stole my heart many years ago!! :)

Not through here...

Living out on the ranch we have a gate entrance! Yep, we are fancy! Don't be jealous! Well last last week this oh so wonderful gate decided to break. I push my button top open the gate to only get...

An almost half way open gate. It thought about opening all the way, then shutting, then opening, then shutting, before stopping and giving me the picture above. Hmmm....I sat there pondering how I was going to fix this. At the ranch we have no cell phone service, luckily I have a cell phone booster and could get a few bars. I called Josh, who once again is 12 hrs. away- no answer. (note: this will probably never change. I still call my dad for everything else not dealing with the ranch and I havent lived at home for 7 years!) Anyways long story short. I slightly panicked not thinking there was a way to get in, but remembered there is another gate with a code I could have gone in as well. But just had to drive down a dusty road and i had JUST cleaned my car the day before. I called Bob because the owners were coming to town the NEXT day and the gate was broke! He advised me to try and unscrew bolt and leave it open, this was important because Ramona the cook was coming out that night and needed in and drives a navigator so would be harder to fit. So after Zippy (my car, yes her name is Zippy) squeeeeezed thru at an angle that took a few 3 pt turns to accomplis the angle, we made it through!

hmm...now for this bolt thing...Where is it? .I made trip home 1st to change, go to the restroom, grab rock & then headed back to the front gate to try and find this "bolt. After some trial and error and another call to Josh I FOUND it...and the dang bolt was too tight from me to loosen with my own "non rough" hands! So I head back up to the barn to get a tool.(mind you its over a 1.5 miles to my house, main compound, and barns from front gate) I decide to be proactive and grab two tools in case one didnt fit. Go BACK to the front, and dang the luck I still cant get it. SO I text Bob, and ask him what he wants me to do. I get back to the main compound, and he ask me to unlock the other gate so she can get in later. so BACK up to the front I go, and down the DUSTY road to unlock the gate. Glad that was all sorted out, 1 hr later. HA.

Accomplishments: 1 unlocked gate that wasnt used, a still half way open gate, & A filthy car that was just cleaned, no workout or horse ridden

Gate was fixed the next day. Currently still working! :) Just hope if it breaks again it is half way so I can squeeze thru again.

Welp, until next time!

Don't Lose the Herd...

So not only do we have deer and exotics at our ranch, but we also have cows! Awe sweet annoying little cows. Now I am an animal lover of all and will help any animal out! I mean I tried to bottle feed a calf on my own for 1.5 hours...which was unsuccessful because he did not take it! BUT I did get a killer work out in. He is doing fine on his own. I feed him everyday, not milk just feed. His name is Norman!

OKAY back to the story of the cows. This past weekend I went for a nice evening ride on my horse. There were four cows & Spanky (the ram who thinks he is a cow, Literally) up around our house before I left. When I return, there is water shooting out of a pipe straight up into the air. WTH? I of course go into panic mode of "Oh Snap, what the heck am I going to do? I don't know how to fix a busted pipe...Stupid cows you bust my pipe with no consideration that it is just me out here." So what do I do? RUN to the house and call Josh! Then Bob, Then Travis! I got the water turned off & was told it would either get fixed that night (well it was already 7:45pm so I doubted that) or first thing in the morning! No biggie! Down side--our house & Coup's water is all connected on the same water line so I had no water as well. Stupid Cows. Well it ended up getting fixed at some point that night because when I went to bed I had water! :) Miguel had come to the rescue, and without my knowledge of knowing he was ever there. ha.

Sunday morning rolls around and I decide to go for another ride...same 4 cows are still around. I am proactive and block the pipe so they cannot brake it again. which would be the 2nd time in 1 week. I then begin to wonder where the rest of the herd is. Hope they didn't all die? Is that possible for 14 cows to all die at the same time? oh no. So I proceed with my ride, get home and rinse off coup and feed & still no cows.

About 7 hours later I FIND THE COWS while enjoying a movie on my couch. Where'd I find them? IN MY FLOWER BED- which should really be called a rock bed. No flowers just decor. Ugh. Stupid Cows again. Have you ever tried to scare a cow, and it is like scaring a human right in front of their face, AFTER you have told them "hey, I'm about to scare you" Yep, they don't move. I resorted to tossing rocks at them, hey they were ruining my nice flower beds, and making a mess of trash, Don't Judge. I was soo aggravated with the mess they made. All I ask is STAY AWAY FROM MY HOUSE and THE WATER LINES! Is that too much for a girl to ask?

In the end, I was happy to not lose the herd, but not happy with the beating my house took in the process. AND to top it off Boss Man was coming in Tuesday, in which I found out Monday. Awesomeness. So motto until the end of the 3 months "Don't Lose the herd" I almost failed this past weekend!

Until next time!

Adventures of Ranch Life Alone...

So like I had mentioned in the post before, Josh is now gone for 3 months. Josh & Taylor have been gone for a few weeks here and there and everytime, something goes wrong at the ranch! It never fails! It is quite entertaining, so I decided to share these stories over the course of the next 3 months! That is a looonnnnggg time to be the "ranch help" on a 3,000 acre ranch where I don't feel I am that much help! Therefore, I am more like the "Ahh, call for help"! Along with the normal "ranch" duties I am preparing to become a wife, which entails modifying my cooking and cleaning skills! or lack there of! ;) Living so far out, we have to cook! Since Josh is now gone that means, I HAVE to cook. So I am trying new things! :)

2 weekends ago of course was my first few days home without Josh and I ventured off to Austin for a florist meeting with Brittney and her mom and my family. Of course, we had a heck of a time like my family always does and I ended up staying the night. Not a big deal, I thought atleast. I had the horse taken care of with the neighbors, and Rocky was on a 24 hr. fast because he had a little bit of loose pooh before I left, but was in great spirits.

I return home on Sunday, to a not so joyful Boxer. He felt terrible, and I could tell. He then preceded to (a little TMI) "poop" blood. I, of course freaked and did not want him to get worse like he did last time, because these were the exact same signs that happened in Feb. After much consideration, or 5 minutes, I decided to take him in to the emergency vet. I was not taking any chances of him getting that dehydrated again, and getting worse over the night AND it was going to be very hard to take him to the vet on Monday with an hr drive ea way and working 8-5: one of the consequences of not having a fiance around. Long story short he is fine now, and back to his normal self! Eating like his stomach never gets full, and doing chores with mom! :) Here is my happy boy Monday afternoon, already feeling 1,000x better!

Needless to say after dealing with a broken stud on Tuesday, Blow out on Thursday, 3 hour drive on Saturday & Sunday, sick dog on Sunday, 1 hr. Back to town Sunday and then back home, I was definitely ready to lay on the couch and call it one hell of a week. Could not wait for what the next week had in store!

Well that is enough for today!

Keep it Real,

Well that time of the year has come around again...Hunting Season- the thing that consumes my fiancé for the next 3 months in Colorado and then the next 3 Months once he gets home! Planning this wee little thing in April and DIY home projects!! My family is also visiting me the next 2 wkends, and then Aggie Football, & possibly Nashville! So great things to come! Wedding on my Mind, Wedding All the Time!

Okay okay....first wedding blog since I have been engaged...well first about my wedding!! :)So the title may be a tad of a lie..it isnt on my mind ALL the time!but it was on my mind a lot...until I did the smartest move yet and hired Wendy with Birds of a Feather Events! I could not be more excited! She planned my sisters
wedding and she is down right amazing! I went drove up to Fort Worth this weekend and my MOH-Brandi, my mom, & I met with her Saturday and it is amazing how she can take my ideas and blend them all together and go perfect! I cannot wait for this day because I know she is going to make it perfect! She is pretty awesome! I already feel soo much stress relief from just one meeting!!

We then went on with our afternoon of bridesmaid dress shopping & just shopping and catching up on laughs and enjoying a mid day cocktail and drink! It was such a good weekend! We all had a blast! The search continues for that perfect bridesmaid dress... although I found ones I like, but not the "one"! (I have since found a few that I love online!) Anyone who knows me, knows that I dont like to do anything normal...I have to be unigue...and different...in a classy stylish way of course!! I do not want anything of mine to be like any one else's and this too includes my wedding! :) I know when I find that dress it is going to be scchhhaaawwweeeet and my Beautiful bridesmaids will totally rock it! :) They will be the hottest bridal party on the block...no but really they will! They are all gorgeous!I could stick them in a toga and they would rock it- although I will not do that to them!:)

Now on to my next task to get done ASAP...STD (Save the Dates) This is a fun, yet tough decision! We took engagements a few weeks ago with our photographers, Summer & Kim of K2 Photography, and they turned out simply amazing!! We love all of them so much! They truly captured us as a couple, and our animals- who most know are our lives! :) Now we have to choose one for STD, not an easy task! & with a slow internet it makes even a harder task while trying to creating different ones! ahahaha! But we have almost come to a decision!

Here are just a few that weren't on facebook from our engagement session!

This last picture means a lot to me. That is Showbox's bridle. It means a lot to me and nothing could ever replace it. I was so happy to have put it on Coup for this special session...and to feel as though Showbox was a part of it with me. He was a big part of my life.

Can't wait for this big day! I wish it would hurry, but I KNOW it is going to fly by!

My Boys!

Meet my boys! Josh and my main man Rocky washing Zippy (Rockafeller,Rock,Little Boy-all refer to this awesome of a boxer dog!)

And Sampson & Coupers

These two make my complete as well! Sampson keeps us laughing- he has quite the personality. Although it may not always be pleasant!! Coup is my big boy, who thinks he is a dog! He is funny and I am so lucky to have the privilege of owning him!

Then we have Rocky boy!!! Tight running with him and Josh! Haha JK! I could not live without either of these two! When one is gone, I have the other! Rocky has literally been with me since the day Josh bought him for me (minus a few grandparent visits and auntie visits). He along with Coup were my rock while in College Station. Rocky went with me everywhere and turned out to be such an obedient and smart dog! I just love him!! Josh is pretty attached too and likes to claim that he is his, but I quickly remind him he was a gift to me!:) we love intact the ranch! And to Rocky it is a play day everyday!

Love my family!!:) they make it complete and perfect!

Shoes are a Girls Best Friend

I love me some shoes! Of course, like any girl! I love boots, flats, sandals, wedges, &heels....well I guess that is about every type of shoe out there!! Every time I get the urge to shop shoes are always the first item I navigate too!(Maybe because this is the one item you always know your size and doesn't make you feel fat!) Second would have to be jeans, closely followed by accessories!:)

Living in Kerrville has made it hard to find some fun shopping being that it tends to have more "retired" people. Along with being in a retired town, places are also only open 9-5 and may be open on weekends. Makes it hard for a 8-5 working girl to try out any shops I've "heard" about! Well being that I have a bad a** job that does cool events I got the opportunity to go to a new place called Passion for Fashion Monday! We are having a "fashion 'show" for the ladies at the club and this is the store we will be showcasing AND I get to be a model for a day! Anyways this store has cute stuff! Now mind you, it def has more "retired"lady things, BUT it does have cute shoes, jewelry, and some cute clothes! This is my best bet for now!!! I already went back and bought these fabulous shoes!! They felt the perfect match to my upbeat personality and fun style!:)

"God Gave Me You"

If you have not heard this song! Then do yourself a favor and download it NOW! I love love love Miranda Lambert and being that she is now married to the wonderful Blake Shelton I have grown to love him also! His music is wonderful and he just released his new CD Red River Blue!
Anyways "God Gave Me You" is one of the songs on this album. It is not his own, he remade the single and it is amazing. For anyone who is in a relationship the words can really hit home & even for some make sense of it all and gain a new strength in your relationship.

Being that I am in the early stages of planning my wedding this song gives me confidence and happiness!I know that God brought me Josh for a reason & I cannot wait to spend the rest of my life with him. Sure we have been together for 7 years, but we have GROWN so much in these 7 years. That is what life is about- going through these changes with the one you love. Everything isn't always going to be happy & go lucky, there will be tough times but the coolest thing is you have someone to go through those times with you!! This song is to remember when things may get rocky for you & your significant other, remember god brought them into your life and it is a blessing!

I’ve been a walking heartache
I’ve made a mess of me
The person that I’ve been lately
Ain’t who I wanna be

But you stay here right beside me
Watch as the storm goes through
And I need you

God gave me you for the ups and downs
God gave me you for the days of doubt
For when I think I’ve lost my way
There are no words here left to say, it’s true
God gave me you

There’s more here than what were seeing
A divine conspiracy
That you, an angel lovely
Could somehow fall for me
You’ll always be love’s great martyr
Ill be the flattered fool
And I need you
Blake Shelton God Gave Me You lyrics found on

God gave me you for the ups and downs
God gave me you for the days of doubt
For when I think I’ve lost my way
There are no words here left to say, it’s true
God gave me you

On my own I’m only
Half of what I could be
I can’t do without you
We are stitched together
And what love has tethered
I pray we never undo

[God gave me you for the ups and downs
God gave me you for the days of doubt
God gave me you for the ups and downs
God gave me you for the days of doubt
For when I think I’ve lost my way
There are no words here left to say, it’s true
God gave me you, gave me you
Gave me you

Coolest drink ever! Have you ever tried one? I have seen multiple pictures but had never been to a place that served them or I did not know how to order them. Well I'll still don't know how to order them unless they are on menus, BUT I do know a place that serves them! Joe's Crab Shack! And man was it delish!!!!!:) this one had corona and it was pretty hard to argue with!!! I've heard On the Border has them so maybe I will try one in CS this weekend!!!!:) Hopefully they will be more reasonable than this guy. And a bigger beer bottle:)

"Eye" See Change

So being that I like change, I am constantly changing my hair, makeup, nails! & whatever else I can always do to be different because I get bored with the same thing!!

Hair- I always go for different colors and or styles! Through this I have come to the realization I wish I could do more things with my hair now that it is long. Should be easy right? Well, for some reason I am not too creative, or I have these ideas but cant seem to carry them out on myself! boo! All I have is the curl, straight, and side pony tail! I see all of these messy hairstyles that look so awesome, and I have yet to get it down. But I am still trying! Hopefully I will conquer some of these styles I am going for.

I also love love love makeup! I love to do different things! I get inspirations from pictures and often try and duplicate them! Even if it doesn't come out perfect you still get a cool final product! :) I have hazel eyes, so the colors needed to make those pop are purples with gray, & warm shimery shades of bronze, gold! I always try different ways to do eyeliner also. Thick on top and nothing on bottom, thin on top and thin on bottom all the way across, thick on top & just on lower eye lid to outside....there are a ton of different ways! :) If you are anything like me I have problems with my eyeliner staying on my bottom eye. I have tried so many different kinds of eyeliner and have found this little one that I love!
It stays on all day and love the definition!:) Here are a few photos of different eye makeups that are a must try! :)

Through it all, We Remain the Same

This weekend Josh, Rock & I loaded up to head to the DFW for yet another wedding! The union of Wade Havins and Amelia Wells! This is the last of the weddings for us in 2011, & the first of my High School friends wedding! :)Amy & Wade's wedding was simply beautiful! Congrats to the two of them as they start their new life together! So exciting!! :)

I had some pretty awesome Friends in High School! We were extremely tight, and once we graduated we all went our different ways to take on life! Through it all we have remained the same & r still the best of friends today, & I LOVE THAT! I was really looking forward to this weekend because ALL of US haven't got to hang out in quite awhile! So I knew this was going to be a great weekend! We all met up for lunch Saturday at Chuy's! When this group gets together...it is for sure going to be a good night! & once again it was! :) It is truly a blessing to have friends that can get together and never miss a beat, when it has sometimes been a year since we all saw eachother!! (Especially since the parents of a few have moved from Vernon and are never down for the holidays anymore.)I can't wait for the end of August when all of the girls will get together for a girl trip!

The weekend was all around a successful fun weekend! Josh and I had a blast and enjoyed seeing everyone! :)

From a Noah to a Nolen

Well it is no secret that my sister got married this past weekend! What an absolute blast! Of course we were up late Wednesday night getting sister all packed for the honeymoon because come Thursday, there would be no time and she would not be back home until 8 days after the wedding! My mom and I also revamped her ribbon bouquet for the rehearsal! Good thing for Great moms! She helped me make it beautiful, or as beautiful as a ribbon bouquet can be. She definitely make it beautiful compared to what I had done.

A relaxing morning at the nail salon was what we all needed before the craziness of wedding began!! :) We stayed in downtown Dallas at the Adolphus hotel! That is just fun to say! :) It was really nice!

The rehearsal dinner was so personable and Brandi and TJ made everyone feel so special and thanked every single person for everything. I really enjoyed that.

The wedding went off without a hitch! The whole day- I will not go into detail- was full of happiness, tears, smiles, laughter, hair do's and make up for the girls!

The ceremony was such a personable ceremony. It was so intimate and everyone there could definitely feel the love for these two. They expressed their own vows to eachother which were simply amazing! The Nolen's are great writers I must say! Then there was cocktail hour where everyone got to mingle and look at various photos of Brandi and Tj from kids to now!

Then there was the amazing, flawless reception! It was simply Amazing! My sisters wedding planner, Wendy owner of Birds-of-a-feather, nailed it! It was very much Brandi and TJ and I heard so many compliments of how personable and beautiful everything was. I hope it lived up to every one of Brandi's expectations because as a sister- I have never been more proud! She looked gorgeous and was glowing all night long and I loved every minute of seeing her that happy with her soul mate!!

Now they begin their lives together forever! What a blessing! She is of course enjoying the beach right now- must be nice- while all of us other folk have to work! hehe :)

So to say the least it was a Beautiful wedding that my family and I will remember for a lifetime! I am so happy to have my sister in my life and now even a brother!!

P.S. It took me a few days to recover after the Noah/Nolen wedding! Everyone there definitely knew how to have a good time! and we all paid for it a little the next day!! :)

" A sister is God's way of taking care of us"~

But I will say:
I can't wait for this next chapter in her life to unfold! I love you Brandi and Congrats! :)

Weekend at Home..

Something I never knew would be so refreshing! and boy am I excited! I have been home 1 weekend out of the last 10 weeks...this weekend could not have come at the more perfect time! Time at home to relax and get everything together for my amazing sisters wedding! I am so excited and cannot wait for this exciting time for her!! This weekend is next week!! a day of prepping for Brandi's big day, getting Coupers pen ready for his big arrival in June, Cleaning the house, & Laundry! Our house will finally be back to normal, & I will already be packed for Brandi's wedding and ready to head out on Wednesday!!! I could not be more excited for my sister...and hope I make it through my speech!!!:)

Another thing that I am really looking forward to is church on Sunday. I am sure many can agree when moving to a new place it is always challenging to find your new home at a church. I had finally found one that both Josh and I were in love with in College Station & honestly, it was hard for me to leave it. I was really upset about it, because I did not believe we would find anything that great here in Kerrville. Josh has been very encouraging that we will try our hardest to find our niche at a church here in Kerrville, and I hope he is right. I have prayed about it and boy does god answer prayers! This is going to be our first weekend home and we had talked about visiting a church on Sunday, but do not know of many. This week I went home a different way, and if I didnt go by a church with a HUGE sign that says "Contemperary Service 11am" Josh had mentioned this church to try, and I feel that me driving by this week is a little message from God that this church should be our first visit~! :) So this Sunday Josh and I are getting to make our first visit on the journey to finding our new church family. I hope and pray that this church is it! because I would love to get involved in a christian family again, I miss it. God is good!! :P Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend!

"Mad About A Man"

Where to Start...I fell behind a little on my blogging the last few weeks. What am I thinking??...oh wait maybe it has a little something to do with this thing called Love!! Everyone is getting hitched and partying...and I am not missing one part!! :) Resuult: lots of driving, fun, smiling, and seeing friends! Only bad thing is Rocky has been at his Aunt Brandi's for 2 weeks now and I wont see him for another 2:( Josh and I miss him a lot!

We are 3 weddings down and 2 bachelorette/bachelor parties down! 3 more weddings(this weekend, memorial day weekend, & June)to go and then things will slow down...well kind of then our wedding planning starts in full force!! It already feels so much like Summer and I love it! Just wish I was still young and had a "Summer Break"! 2 weekends ago I got to float the river for Jessica's bachelorette party! That was a lot of fun! I really enjoy the river!!

This past weekend was my sister's bachelorette party! We had a "Mad Men" themed party! It was fun! It also included an afternoon at the pool and on the boat at Lake Travis...not too shabby! It was a long fun filled weekend that turned out to be perfect! We did a photo shoot and had a professional photagrapher, ate at Sandra Bullocks restaurant, got told we were the best Bachelorette Party they have ever seen, and even got VIP bottle service for FREE at a bar!! :) I am exhausted tonight, but happy to be home! Here are some pictures from the fabulous Mad Men Party!

This weeekend we will head to Houston for Mike & Jess's big wedding weekend! :)

What a Weekend!!

What a whirlwind of a week! Tuesday the Lady Aggies win the NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP! I was soo happy. I sure did wear my aggie ring with more pride than ever the next day! I had a long exhausting week with very late hours! Come Friday, I was ready to head to Vernon for my sister's wedding shower! But I had NO IDEA what was in store for me on this trip home.

I was so excited because Josh was not going to chilifest and decided to come with me, and I got off at 1 on Friday! I was so excited to see my family and to go to my sisters big wedding shower Saturday Morning. I ran into a wardrobe malfunction and my sister and I made an emergency trip to Wal MArt at 10:30pm. We were literally grabbing everything and luckily found me an outfit, that wasnt too bad! I got many compliments on it! Any trip to wal mart is not quick nor cheap with me and my sister! We laugh and always find a ton of things and then wonder how the heck we spent that much! The shower was beautiful and perfect! I was so happy for my sister!

My weekend soon changed into one of the most memorable nights of my life! Josh proposed Saturday night! It was perfect! I was completely shocked, crying, and full of excitement! My family including future brother-in-law, and our 2 dogs and my horse were all there, which made it 10x more perfect! You always think of the day you get engaged and how it is going to happen, and how you will feel, BUT no matter how many times I had thought about it I never even expected it to be this perfect! Josh was soo happy also, which made me cry even more and that much more excited. To see him so excited about asking me to spend the rest of my life with him and have that much emotion will be a moment I will never forget. He is amazing. He did so good having my family around because they are such a huge part of my life and being hours away from them right after I got engaged would have been hard. It was so nice to get to celebrate with them that night! My sister, TJ, Josh, and I decided we were going to go out in the Big Ol Town of Vernon and celebrate, because y not!! If you are not familiar with Vernon there are not a whole lot of places to celebrate minus the Cotton Boll & Crazy Mikes. We went to the Cotton Boll first because it was closest to the house, as we are parking we are discussing that we do not have any cash, but oh well we will just start a tab. As we are walking up to the door a BIG SIGN says "NO DEBIT CARDS, NO CREDIT CARDS, NO TABS" Awesome. Our plan was to start a tab on our debit card....no happening. Strike 1 So we head to the next bar....no sign on the door! Yes, we are golden....or so we thought! Then a tiny sign once we are in..."No debit Cards or Credit Cards CASH OR CHECK ONLY" Check? Really? who carries a checkbook anymore? Much less takes checks? Those things can bounce like crazy! So Strike 2. Then we see a guy get layed out...Strike 3. We soon went home and hung out at the house! haha Good ol' Vernon!! Sunday we headed back home as a newly engaged couple still beaming from ear to ear, both of us!

As for wedding planning....little overwhelmed. I know, I havent been engaged but 4 days, but if you know me you know I am a plan freak! And I like to know ALL MY OPTIONS before I make a decision, ESPECIALLY with money! So I have been calling around and we have our first two appointments this weekend Friday at 3 and Saturday at 3:30! We are excited! We have soo many weddings and weekends away that this is the one weekend the wedding is nearby so we are trying to look at a few to nail down a venue and date before Memorial Day. Wish us luck! We have some pretty awesome ideas that I cant wait to see all come into play!! :)
I leave with a few photos from my incredible weekend! Hope everyone has a wonderful day!
